Text Box: Back to Litters

Roman is a very affectionate dog, likes people, gets along well with other dogs and follows me everywhere.  He also enjoys  being the center of attention and can get vocal during morning coffee with my wife or when he thinks I have not paid enough attention to him when I come home from work.  Afterwards he is content though and is a very pleasant to have around the house.  I would describe him as a soft dog  so training, for the most part, has been quite easy. He was awarded his AKC JR Hunter title with 4 straight passes.  However, he can take pressure when necessary because he wants to please. In the field Roman is a joy to watch and to hunt over.  He works well within gun range and, at 4 years of age, handles his birds very nicely.   Roman also has excellent stamina.  Last season was the first time he wasn't sharing duties with Maynard so he was on the ground solo for two grouse hunting trips to Michigan's Upper Peninsula,  one was for 6 days and the other was for 4.  He absolutely loved it and, although he is still a work in progress, he is turning into a nice grouse dog.  The thing that I love most about Roman is that he has an excellent disposition and good temperament which makes him a wonderful family companion. He brings a smile to our faces each and every day.
