Crossfire Setters in the field

Text Box: In Dan’s words: I have had the pleasure of working with Tagg, Johnny and Dani helping to train them for the field. With 27 years of training experience working with all breeds of Setters and Pointers I can honestly say that I have never worked with dogs that showed more natural instinct and bird ability. These three dogs were a dream to take through their initial training … seeming to know just what was wanted after being shown.

To say that they were fast learners is an understatement, learning to quarter, point staunchly, and being steady to wing and shot in just four weeks. The Irish Red and White Setter has shown itself to be a very calm, loving, and biddable breed that is quick to learn with a strong desire to please. I look forward to continuing to work with this breed, and hunting them in the field. I am sure that they are to become one of the favoured upland breeds.

Not going to pretend I know what I’m doing,

but sure am

having fun learning!

Dan started coaching me in 2007, and Alex in 2008.

… if I ever develop a great dog, it will be thanks

 to their teaching.

Thanks for

all the help, Dan and Alex.!!

Text Box: In Alex’s words: Having had a great deal of experience as a performance judge and handler of flushing Spaniels in both Field Trial and Hunt Tests, it was with some trepidation that I entered Alice’s world of the Red and White Setters. I was completely bowled over by the natural ability that Alice’s dogs exhibit; they have all of the speed, style, and trainability that a field enthusiast looks for in a working dog. The fact that they are really easy on the eye is an added bonus. I am looking forward to helping Alice achieve her goals in the field world in the future.
